Job Title: RN Observation Care
Job Summary:
The RN Observation Care is responsible for providing quality and compassionate care to patients who are being observed for various medical conditions. This role involves assessing patients, monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and evaluate patients' conditions and plan appropriate care.
2. Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and progress of patients.
3. Administer medications and assist with treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
4. Educate patients and their families on their medical conditions and treatment plans.
5. Communicate effectively with other healthcare team members to coordinate care.
6. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
7. Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
10. Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS certification.
3. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in acute care or observation settings.
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
8. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.
9. Ability to handle stressful situations with compassion and professionalism.
