Job Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist in Critical Care- Neonatal ICU provides advanced nursing care and expertise to neonatal patients in the intensive care unit. They collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans, provide education to staff and families, and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to neonatal patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and monitor the health status of neonatal patients in the ICU
2. Develop and implement individualized care plans for neonatal patients
3. Provide education and training to nursing staff on best practices in neonatal care
4. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
5. Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and best practices in neonatal ICU care
6. Participate in research projects and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
7. Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff in the neonatal ICU
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Nurse with a valid state license
2. Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Neonatal ICU
3. Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Critical Care- Neonatal ICU
4. Minimum of 3 years of experience in neonatal ICU nursing
5. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
6. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
7. Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
