Job Title: Nursing Director NICU
Job Summary:
The Nursing Director NICU is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within a healthcare facility. They will provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, develop and implement policies and procedures, and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to neonatal patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure efficient and effective operation of the NICU.
2. Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
3. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care.
4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
5. Monitor and analyze patient outcomes and quality metrics, making adjustments as needed to improve care.
6. Manage budget and resources effectively to meet departmental goals.
7. Develop and implement staff education and training programs to promote professional development.
8. Serve as a resource and advocate for patients and families in the NICU.
9. Participate in committees and task forces related to neonatal care and patient safety.
10. Stay current on advances in neonatal care and best practices in the field.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role in a NICU setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of NICU best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to analyze data and make evidence-based decisions.
- Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) preferred.
