Job Title: Director of Nursing Labor and Delivery
Job Summary:
As the Director of Nursing Labor and Delivery, you will be responsible for overseeing all nursing operations within the Labor and Delivery department. Your primary role will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and provide leadership and guidance to the nursing staff. You will also be responsible for managing and coordinating clinical activities, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide leadership and supervision to the nursing staff in the Labor and Delivery department
- Develop and implement nursing care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Monitor patient outcomes and make adjustments to care plans as needed
- Manage staffing levels and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and quality of care
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure that the department meets performance goals
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care and improve outcomes
- Serve as a resource for nursing staff and provide education and training on best practices in Labor and Delivery care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Master's degree preferred
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
