Job Title: Nursing Director Perioperative Services
Job Summary:
The Nursing Director of Perioperative Services is responsible for overseeing all aspects of patient care within the surgical department, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction. This role involves leading a team of nurses and support staff, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Develop and maintain departmental goals and objectives in alignment with the organization's mission and strategic plan.
2. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
3. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
4. Oversee the scheduling and coordination of surgeries, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely patient care.
5. Monitor and analyze departmental performance data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
7. Manage departmental budget, including staffing, equipment, and supply procurement.
8. Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of staff members.
9. Act as a liaison between the surgical department and other departments within the organization.
10. Stay current on best practices, technological advancements, and industry trends in perioperative services.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree preferred.
2. Current RN license in the state of practice.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in perioperative nursing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
4. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards relevant to perioperative services.
7. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement performance improvement initiatives.
8. Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic health records and Microsoft Office suite.
