We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nursing Director β Behavioral Health to lead and oversee nursing operations within our behavioral health unit. This leadership role ensures the highest standards of psychiatric patient care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical expertise in mental health care and proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams.
Oversee daily nursing operations within the behavioral health department, ensuring quality, safety, and patient-centered care
Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff performance to ensure adherence to clinical standards
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and administrative leaders to enhance patient outcomes
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS)
Manage staffing schedules, budgeting, and resource allocation to support efficient service delivery
Monitor clinical indicators, patient satisfaction, and compliance data to drive continuous improvement
Provide crisis management leadership and ensure timely intervention during psychiatric emergencies
Facilitate staff education, certification, and ongoing professional development in behavioral health care
RN license (active and in good standing)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Masterβs degree (MSN, MHA, or MBA) preferred
5+ years of clinical nursing experience with at least 2β3 years in a leadership or managerial role in behavioral or psychiatric health
Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and therapeutic environments
Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
Experience with accreditation processes and regulatory compliance in behavioral health settings
Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (e.g., PMH-BC)
Experience in trauma-informed care, substance use treatment, and co-occurring disorders
Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare data systems
