Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients who arrive in the emergency room with urgent medical needs. This role involves assessing, triaging, and treating patients in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess patients upon arrival and prioritize care based on severity of conditions
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered by physicians
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition promptly
- Educate patients and their families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of employment
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
