Job Title: Sleep Technologist
Job Summary:
The Sleep Technologist is responsible for conducting and analyzing sleep studies to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. This role requires proficiency in operating various sleep monitoring equipment and interpreting results accurately.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Set up and calibrate sleep monitoring equipment according to protocol
- Monitor patients during sleep studies to ensure proper data collection
- Analyze sleep study results and prepare reports for review by physicians
- Educate patients on sleep study procedures and sleep hygiene practices
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and test results
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans for patients with sleep disorders
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent
- Proficiency in operating sleep monitoring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of sleep disorders and treatment options
