Job Title: Surgical Technician
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to assist in various surgical procedures by preparing and organizing instruments, supplies, and equipment. The Surgical Technician will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the operating room.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Set up and prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
2. Assist in draping and positioning patients for surgery.
3. Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
4. Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical process.
5. Assist in the care and handling of surgical specimens.
6. Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after each procedure.
7. Ensure the operating room is stocked and organized with necessary supplies.
8. Assist with patient transport to and from the operating room.
9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
10. Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure the smooth flow of the procedure.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent training/experience.
3. Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) preferred.
4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment.
8. Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
9. Understanding of sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
10. BLS certification required.
