Job Title: Charge Nurse
Job Summary:
As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the nursing staff and patient care within a healthcare facility. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that high-quality patient care is consistently provided.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Supervise and direct nursing staff
2. Develop and implement patient care plans
3. Coordinate with healthcare team members to provide optimal patient care
4. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and policies
5. Communicate effectively with patients and their families
6. Monitor patient progress and make adjustments to care plans as necessary
7. Assist with nursing tasks as needed
8. Provide mentorship and training to new staff members
9. Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
10. Maintain accurate medical records
11. Participate in staff meetings and in-service training
12. Handle any emergencies or crisis situations that may arise
13. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
14. Serve as a resource for staff members regarding patient care issues
15. Keep abreast of developments in healthcare and nursing best practices
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
6. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices
7. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
8. Ability to lead and motivate a team of healthcare professionals
9. Proficient in computer skills and medical software applications
10. Strong attention to detail and organization
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
12. Flexibility and adaptability to changing healthcare environments
13. CPR certification
14. ACLS certification preferred
15. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
