Job Title: Registered Nurse Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), you will be responsible for providing care for patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery. You will monitor patients closely, assess their vital signs, and manage pain levels to ensure a safe and comfortable recovery process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor patients post-surgery and assess their condition
2. Manage pain levels and administer medication as needed
3. Monitor vital signs and respond to any changes in patient status
4. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care
5. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions
6. Document patient assessments and care provided in medical records
7. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient environment
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PACU setting
4. Strong critical thinking and communication skills
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
6. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
