Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing expert nursing care to patients in critical or emergency situations. You will assess patients, administer medication, coordinate with other healthcare professionals, and provide comfort and support to patients and their families during challenging times.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess and triage patients upon arrival to the Emergency Department
- Administer medication and treatments according to physician orders
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Participate in emergency response teams and disaster preparedness training
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- Previous experience in emergency or critical care nursing preferred
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
