Job Title: Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery (RN L&D)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery department. The RN L&D will be responsible for providing quality care to expectant mothers and newborn babies during the labor and delivery process. This role requires critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor the mother and baby's vital signs during labor
2. Assist with labor pain management techniques
3. Provide emotional support to the mother and family members
4. Administer medications as needed
5. Assist with the delivery of the baby
6. Perform postpartum assessments on both mother and baby
7. Educate new mothers on breastfeeding and newborn care
8. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for mother and baby
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Previous experience in Labor and Delivery preferred
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
6. Knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and protocols
