Job Title: Certified Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Tech
Job Summary: The Certified Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Tech is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures in the cardiovascular operating room, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment, and providing quality patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare operating room for surgeries, including setting up equipment and instruments.
2. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
3. Monitor patient vital signs and assist in patient positioning.
4. Maintain a sterile field during surgeries to prevent infections.
5. Operate specialized equipment such as heart-lung machines and pacemakers.
6. Provide emotional support to patients and their families before and after surgery.
7. Assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room.
8. Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information.
9. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure safety and quality patient care.
10. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on advancements in the field.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician (CVOR Tech).
2. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a cardiovascular operating room.
4. Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and surgical procedures.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
8. Ability to work well as part of a team.
9. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
10. Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
