We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurse First Surgical Assistant (RNFA) to join our surgical team. The RNFA provides direct patient care during operative procedures, working closely with surgeons to optimize surgical outcomes while ensuring patient safety and high-quality care.
Provide intraoperative surgical assistance under the supervision of the surgeon, including tissue handling, wound exposure, suctioning, suturing, and hemostasis.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a sterile environment and adherence to surgical protocols.
Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient care, including assessment, patient education, and discharge planning.
Assist in preparing surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Monitor patient status during procedures and communicate with the perioperative team.
Document assessments, interventions, and surgical outcomes accurately in the patient record.
Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based nursing practice.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific).
Current RNFA certification required.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Minimum 2 years of perioperative nursing experience (OR experience strongly preferred).
Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques.
