Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals undergoing treatment for cancer. You will work closely with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments as prescribed by the oncologist

- Monitor patients for signs of adverse reactions to treatments and provide immediate interventions as needed

- Educate patients and their families on cancer treatment options, side effects, and self-care measures

- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans for patients

- Provide emotional support to patients and their families throughout the treatment process

- Document patient assessments, care provided, and treatment outcomes accurately and timely

- Stay current on advances in oncology treatment and participate in continuing education opportunities

Qualifications and Skills:

- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

- Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) a plus

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology nursing

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes emotionally charged environment

- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
