Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg team. As an RN in Med Surg, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing a wide range of medical conditions. Your primary goal will be to promote wellness, minimize complications, and support the recovery process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess patients' conditions and collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patients' vital signs and administer medications as prescribed
- Administer treatments and perform various procedures, such as wound care, catheter insertion, and IV therapy
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and self-care techniques
- Document patients' medical histories, symptoms, and treatment plans accurately and promptly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and ensure smooth patient transitions
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and ensure the timely delivery of critical interventions
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
- Utilize advanced medical equipment and technology to deliver optimal care
- Stay updated with latest medical advancements, nursing practices, and evidence-based protocols
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times
- Advocate for patients' rights and ensure ethical and respectful care delivery
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current and valid registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
- At least 2-3 years of experience in med surg nursing highly preferred
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Proficient in using healthcare technology, electronic medical records (EMR), and medical equipment
- Passion for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to their overall well-being
- Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a diverse healthcare team
- CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and different shifts as required
