Job Title: Registered Nurse - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to residents in our long term care facility. As a Registered Nurse in LTC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of our residents. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement appropriate care plans, provide direct nursing care, administer medications, and monitor the progress of residents. Your expertise and empathy will help create a nurturing and comfortable environment for our residents and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess and document residents' health conditions and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Assist residents with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in residents' conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and implement comprehensive care
- Provide emotional support and education to residents and their families
- Evaluate and adjust care plans based on residents' progress and changing needs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Act as an advocate for residents, ensuring their rights and preferences are respected
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Prior experience in long term care or geriatric nursing preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and ethics
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Compassionate and empathetic nature towards residents and their families
- Proficient computer skills, including electronic medical record systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Current CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, but not required
- Must meet background check and health examination requirements
