Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) ICU (Intensive Care)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to critically ill patients. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and implement treatment plans to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients in critical condition.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess patient conditions in the ICU
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
4. Perform specialized procedures such as intubation, arterial lines, and mechanical ventilation
5. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times
6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
7. Stay current on best practices and advancements in critical care nursing
8. Assist with patient transfers to other units or facilities as needed
9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects
10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certifications
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care nursing
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
6. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
8. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
9. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
10. CCRN certification a plus
