Job Title: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum/Nursery/Peds Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
As a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum/Nursery/Peds RN, you will be responsible for caring for mothers and newborns before, during, and after delivery. You will also be providing care to pediatric patients in the nursery and pediatric units. Your primary goal will be to ensure the health and well-being of both mother and baby throughout the labor and delivery process, as well as during the postpartum and pediatric care stages.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist with labor and delivery procedures
- Monitor the mother's and baby's vital signs
- Administer medications as needed
- Provide education and support to new mothers on newborn care and breastfeeding
- Care for newborns in the nursery, including feeding, changing, and monitoring their health
- Assist with pediatric patient care in the pediatric unit
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Document all patient interactions and care provided
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license
- Previous experience in labor & delivery, postpartum, nursery, and/or pediatric nursing
- BLS certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of maternal and infant health best practices
