Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse, Pediatric
Job Summary:
The Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the emergency room setting. They must be able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for children who are in critical condition or experiencing medical emergencies.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide compassionate and age-appropriate care to pediatric patients in the emergency room setting
- Triage patients according to the severity of their condition
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement treatment plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor vital signs and assess the overall condition of pediatric patients
- Educate patients and their families on their medical conditions and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- BSN or higher degree in nursing
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a pediatric emergency room setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
