Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery Nurse (LDRP)
Job Summary:
As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing care and support to pregnant women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. Your role will involve monitoring the health and well-being of both mother and baby, administering medications, assisting with medical procedures, and educating patients on prenatal care and newborn care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs during labor
2. Assist with the delivery of babies, including providing emotional support to mothers
3. Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed
4. Educate patients on prenatal care, breastfeeding, and newborn care
5. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for patients
7. Provide support and guidance to new mothers during the postpartum period
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Active RN license in the state of employment
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
3. Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
7. Knowledge of current trends and practices in obstetric nursing care
