Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health RN
Job Summary:
As a Behavioral Health RN, you will be responsible for providing care to patients suffering from mental health and behavioral issues. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients in a psychiatric setting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health conditions
2. Develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by psychiatrists
4. Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
5. Provide counseling and support to patients and family members
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to patients
7. Document all care provided accurately and timely
8. Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress
9. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
10. Implement safety measures to prevent self-harm or harm to others
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Certification in psychiatric-mental health nursing (PMHN) preferred
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health nursing
5. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
8. Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities
9. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
10. Basic computer skills for electronic health record documentation
