Job Title: Surgical Technologist/Scrub Technologist
Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist, also known as a Scrub Technologist, plays a crucial role in the operating room by assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of surgical techniques and procedures, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. The Surgical Technologist must also be able to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and other supplies
- Maintain a sterile field during surgeries to prevent infections
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as required
- Assist with the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure smooth operation of procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
