Job title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room, Open Heart Surgery
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel RN specializing in Operating Room, Open Heart Surgery to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing care to patients undergoing cardiac surgical procedures, including pre-operative assessment, intra-operative monitoring, and post-operative care. This position requires strong critical thinking skills, a compassionate bedside manner, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform pre-operative assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients undergoing open heart surgery
- Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating their needs and providing the necessary instruments and supplies
- Monitor patients closely during surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Provide post-operative care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing pain
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical procedure, recovery process, and post-operative care instructions
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for each patient
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating room nursing, preferably in open heart surgery
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of cardiac surgical procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
- Willingness to travel to different healthcare facilities for assignments
