Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (Emergency Room Nurse)
Job Summary:
The Emergency Department RN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. They must be able to assess, triage, and treat patients with urgent medical needs while collaborating with a team of medical professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess and triage patients upon arrival to the emergency department
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by physicians
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient status
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on their conditions and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of patients and the healthcare team
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
