Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU)
Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU) RN will be responsible for providing care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery. They will monitor patients' vital signs, assess patients' pain levels, and ensure a smooth transition from surgery to recovery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess patients' vital signs post-surgery
2. Administer medications as prescribed by the physician
3. Evaluate patients' pain levels and provide comfort measures as needed
4. Communicate with surgeons and anesthesiologists regarding patients' conditions
5. Assist patients in their recovery process and ensure their safety and well-being
6. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions
7. Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures
9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU or critical care
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
6. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. Strong problem-solving skills
9. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients
