Job Title: Phlebotomist
Job Summary:
As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for drawing blood from patients for medical testing, transfusions, donations, or research. You will need to follow strict protocols to ensure the safety and comfort of patients, as well as accurately label and process blood samples for analysis.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Greet patients and verify their identity and test orders
2. Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort during blood draws
3. Use venipuncture techniques to safely and efficiently collect blood samples
4. Label and package blood samples for laboratory testing
5. Maintain cleanliness and order in the phlebotomy area
6. Follow safety protocols and infection control measures
7. Keep accurate records of patient information and test results
8. Work closely with medical staff to ensure proper patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Completion of a phlebotomy training program
3. Certification in phlebotomy preferred
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
6. Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
7. Strong attention to detail
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality
