Job title: Assistant Nurse Manager (Psychiatric Adult)
Job Summary:
The Assistant Nurse Manager (Psychiatric Adult) is responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a psychiatric adult unit. They work closely with the nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care, implement and enforce policies and procedures, and provide leadership and support to the team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist the Nurse Manager in planning, coordinating, and evaluating the nursing care provided to psychiatric adult patients.
2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
3. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of practice.
4. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
5. Participate in performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions as required.
6. Monitor and assess patient progress and make recommendations for changes in treatment plans.
7. Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care for patients.
8. Assist in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's degree preferred.
3. Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
4. Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
7. Knowledge of psychiatric nursing principles and practices.
8. BLS and ACLS certification required.
9. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
10. Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
