Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) - CDU (Observation)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse working in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) Observation area, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, monitoring patient conditions, and collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes. You will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in the CDU setting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor patient conditions and vital signs in the CDU Observation area.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
4. Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-care instructions.
5. Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely.
6. Conduct patient assessments upon admission and throughout their stay in the CDU.
7. Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times.
8. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
10. Provide support and assistance to other healthcare team members as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
4. CPR certification.
5. ACLS certification.
6. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
10. Ability to multitask and prioritize patient care needs.
