Job Title: Director of Nursing, Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing, Long Term Care (LTC) is responsible for overseeing and managing all nursing operations within a long-term care facility. They are tasked with ensuring high-quality patient care, implementing policies and procedures, and leading a team of nursing staff.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Develop and maintain nursing policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations.
2. Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for patients.
4. Conduct regular assessments of nursing staff performance and provide feedback and support as needed.
5. Monitor and evaluate the overall quality of care provided within the facility.
6. Manage budgeting and staffing for the nursing department.
7. Participate in hiring, training, and evaluating nursing staff.
8. Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
9. Promote a positive and supportive work environment for nursing staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree preferred.
2. Active RN license in the state of practice.
3. Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
4. Knowledge of long-term care regulations and industry best practices.
5. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
6. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
7. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records systems.
9. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
