Job Title: Operating Room - Surgical Technologist
Job Summary:
The Operating Room - Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. They are tasked with preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, ensuring patient safety, and providing support before, during, and after surgery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
2. Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
3. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by handing them instruments and supplies.
4. Monitor patients during surgery and provide any necessary support.
5. Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them on the operating table.
6. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room to prevent infections.
7. Assist with post-operative care, including dressing changes and wound care.
8. Documentation of procedures and patient care in medical records.
9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
10. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations in the operating room.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
2. Associate's degree in surgical technology or related field.
3. Previous experience working in an operating room setting.
4. Knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and other team members.
9. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
