Job Title: Interim Lab Director (Lab Manager)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Interim Lab Director to oversee the daily operations of our laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory management, including experience in overseeing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining a high level of quality control. This is a temporary position to cover for a leave of absence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including overseeing staff, coordinating schedules, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and safety protocols
- Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow and communication
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, and oversee the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Train and mentor staff members to ensure a high level of performance and professionalism
- Prepare reports and attend meetings to update senior management on laboratory activities and performance
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as biology, chemistry, or medical technology)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, including CLIA and OSHA standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems and other relevant software programs
