Job Title: Operating Room (OR) Supervisor/Assistant Unit Manager
Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) Supervisor/Assistant Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the operating room, ensuring that procedures are carried out efficiently and safely. They are in charge of supervising staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of operating room staff, including nurses, technicians, and support personnel.
2. Ensure that all equipment and supplies are readily available for procedures.
3. Maintain a safe and clean environment in the operating room.
4. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and patient care.
5. Assist in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of staff members.
6. Participate in the budgeting process and monitor expenses within the department.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
8. Stay current on advancements in surgical techniques and technology.
9. Handle any issues or conflicts that may arise within the operating room.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required.
2. Current RN license in the state of practice.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an operating room setting.
4. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
5. Strong communication and leadership skills.
6. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
7. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and healthcare practices.
8. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
