Job Title: Critical Care Unit Clerk (Unit Desk Clerk)
Job Summary:
The Critical Care Unit Clerk, also known as the Unit Desk Clerk, is responsible for providing administrative support to the critical care unit, including maintaining accurate patient records, scheduling appointments, coordinating patient admissions and discharges, and communicating with healthcare providers and patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Greet and assist patients and visitors at the unit desk
2. Maintain and update patient charts and records
3. Schedule appointments and coordinate patient admissions and discharges
4. Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and family members regarding patient care
5. Order and maintain supplies for the unit
6. Assist with billing and insurance paperwork
7. Ensure the unit desk area is clean and organized
8. Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
