Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Nurse provides immediate and specialized care to patients in critical condition or experiencing medical emergencies. They work in fast-paced environments to assess, treat, and stabilize patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct initial assessments and triage patients upon arrival
2. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as necessary
3. Monitor vital signs and patient progress throughout their stay
4. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to create individualized care plans
5. Respond to medical emergencies and provide life-saving interventions
6. Educate patients and families on healthcare management and prevention strategies
7. Document patient care and outcomes accurately and thoroughly
8. Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory guidelines
9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment
10. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care setting
5. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
7. Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations
8. Commitment to continuing education and professional development
