Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Job Summary:
A Labor and Delivery Nurse plays a crucial role in assisting mothers through the childbirth process. They provide care and support to both the mother and baby before, during, and after labor.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor fetal heart rates and contractions during labor
2. Assist with labor induction and pain management techniques
3. Prepare mothers for delivery and assist with the birthing process
4. Provide postpartum care to both mother and baby
5. Educate mothers on breastfeeding and newborn care
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of mother and baby
7. Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license
2. Certification in Labor and Delivery Nursing
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work well under pressure
5. Knowledge of childbirth procedures and techniques
6. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
