Job Summary:
The General Practice Clinic Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and assisting healthcare professionals in a busy clinic environment. This role involves interacting with patients, scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and ensuring the smooth running of daily clinic operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Schedule appointments and maintain clinic calendar
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
- Handle phone calls and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate staff member
- Manage medical records and documentation in accordance with clinic policies
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of clinic spaces
- Order and maintain supplies as needed
- Follow up on patient referrals and schedule follow-up appointments
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service role preferred
- Proficiency in computer skills and electronic medical records systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinic procedures a plus
