Job Title: Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician/Laboratory Technician
Job Summary: As a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician/Laboratory Technician, you will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist medical professionals in diagnosing and treating patients. You will work in a clinical laboratory setting, analyzing samples of blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids to provide accurate and timely results.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct laboratory tests and procedures in accordance with established protocols and quality standards.
2. Analyze and interpret test results, documenting findings accurately.
3. Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure proper calibration.
4. Adhere to safety and infection control procedures to maintain a clean and sterile work environment.
5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss test results and provide clinical support as needed.
6. Assist in the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other staff members.
7. Stay current on advances in medical technology and laboratory practices through continuing education and training.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
2. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) preferred.
3. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Familiarity with laboratory information systems and computer software.
7. Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
