Job Summary:
The Surgical Specialist Clinic RN is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in a clinic setting. This role involves working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
2. Monitoring patients' vital signs and responding to any changes or complications.
3. Assisting with pre-operative and post-operative education for patients and their families.
4. Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
5. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
6. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
7. Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients during their surgical experience.
8. Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
3. Prior experience in surgical nursing or a related specialty.
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
7. BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
8. Knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and sterile techniques.
