Job title: Med surg Adult, Registered Nurse (Staff RN)
Job Summary:
The Med surg Adult, Registered Nurse (Staff RN) is responsible for providing direct patient care in a hospital setting. This role includes assessing patients, administering medications, coordinating care with other healthcare professionals, and educating patients and their families on treatment plans. The Staff RN must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize patient care effectively.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patient conditions and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and provide emotional support
- Document all patient care activities in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical adult setting
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
