Job Title: Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery Nurse, Post Partum
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team, specializing in postpartum care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to mothers and babies during the labor and delivery process, as well as postpartum care following childbirth.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor the health and well-being of mothers and babies during labor and delivery
- Provide support and guidance to mothers throughout the childbirth process
- Administer medications and assist with pain management
- Educate new mothers on infant care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
- Assess and monitor the physical and emotional well-being of mothers during the postpartum period
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
- Document patient care in accordance with facility policies and procedures
- Assist with newborn screenings and assessments
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS and NRP certification
- Solid understanding of labor and delivery best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Prior experience in labor and delivery and postpartum care preferred
