Job Summary:
As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, Obstetrics RN, you will be responsible for providing care to pregnant women during childbirth and postpartum recovery. Your role will involve monitoring the mother and baby's vital signs, administering medications, assisting with labor and delivery procedures, and offering emotional support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting initial assessments on pregnant women in labor
- Monitoring fetal heart rates and mother's contractions during labor
- Administering medications and pain relief as needed
- Assisting with labor and delivery procedures, such as cesarean sections or epidurals
- Providing emotional support and guidance to patients and their families
- Educating new mothers on postpartum care and newborn care
- Collaborating with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BSN or higher degree in nursing
- Certification in Obstetrics and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
