Job title: Certified Scrub/Surgical Technologist
Job Summary: As a Certified Scrub/Surgical Technologist, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure will be essential in providing high-quality care to patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
2. Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments and equipment.
3. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
4. Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
5. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly to requests.
6. Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety.
7. Monitor and document patient vital signs during surgery.
8. Clean and restock the operating room after procedures.
9. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to infection control and patient safety.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
2. Associate's degree in surgical technology or a related field preferred.
3. Experience working in a surgical setting is highly desirable.
4. Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
6. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
7. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
8. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
9. Willingness to adhere to strict safety and hygiene protocols.
