Job Title: Registered Nurse Nursery/Couplet Care
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Nursery/Couplet Care, you will be responsible for providing care to newborn infants and their mothers in a hospital setting. You will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure the health and well-being of both mother and baby during the postpartum period.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform assessments on newborn infants and new mothers
- Provide education and support to new parents on infant care and feeding
- Monitor mother and baby vital signs
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by healthcare providers
- Assist with breastfeeding and provide guidance on proper latching techniques
- Document all care provided in patients' medical records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop care plans for mother and baby
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- BLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Nursery/Couplet Care preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of newborn care best practices
- Ability to provide compassionate care to mothers and babies
