Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse (Emergency Department RN)
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. They must be able to quickly assess and respond to medical emergencies, collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, and prioritize patient needs in a critical care environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing and triaging patients upon arrival in the emergency department
- Administering medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Performing emergency procedures such as intubation and CPR
- Collaborating with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
- Documenting patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records
- Educating patients and families about their conditions and treatment plans
- Adhering to hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulatory requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an emergency department setting
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
