Job Title: Psychiatric Pediatric Nurse (Psych RN)
Job Summary:
As a Psychiatric Pediatric Nurse, you will be responsible for providing care and support to children and adolescents with mental health issues. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric disorders in young patients. Your role will involve creating individualized treatment plans, administering medication, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate the mental health of pediatric patients
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on individual patient needs
- Administer medication and monitor its effects on young patients
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for pediatric patients
- Educate patients and families on mental health issues and treatment options
- Document patient care and progress in medical records
- Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in pediatric psychiatry
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
- Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassion and empathy for young patients with mental health issues
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development
