Job title: Emergency Room Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing quality and compassionate care to patients in the emergency room setting. They must be able to quickly assess and prioritize patients based on their condition, administer medications, perform diagnostic tests, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess and triage patients upon arrival to the emergency room
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician
- Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs, blood draws, and wound care
- Monitor patient vital signs and response to treatment
- Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and their families on their condition and treatment options
- Respond to emergencies and provide lifesaving interventions as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
