Job Title: Registered Nurse Operating Room RN

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse with Operating Room experience to join our healthcare team. As an Operating Room RN, your primary responsibility will be to assist surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. You will be responsible for preparing the operating room, monitoring patients before, during, and after surgery, and providing direct patient care. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring cleanliness, stocking necessary supplies, and verifying equipment functionality

- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and providing instruments and supplies as necessary

- Monitor patients' vital signs, administer IV medications, and manage anesthesia, while ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical process

- Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists, to ensure seamless coordination and quality patient care

- Document patient information, surgical procedures, and post-operative progress accurately and promptly

- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, aftercare instructions, and potential risks or complications

- Maintain a sterile and organized environment in the operating room, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines

- Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their comfort, privacy, and emotional well-being before, during, and after surgery

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' needs and surgical requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room setting

- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification

- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (depending on the work setting)

- Excellent knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment

- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced and high-stress environment

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per the demands of the healthcare facility

- Commitment to following established protocols, standards, and ethical guidelines
