Job Title: Endoscopy Nurse
Job Summary:
The Endoscopy Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures. This includes assisting physicians during procedures, monitoring patient vital signs, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare and assist with endoscopic procedures
2. Monitor patient vital signs and administer medications as needed
3. Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care
4. Maintain sterile environment during procedures
5. Document patient information and keep accurate records
6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
7. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license
2. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in endoscopy
3. Certification in gastroenterology nursing (CGRN) preferred
4. ACLS and BLS certification
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations
7. Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
